(Merchandise Buying and Management, John Donnellan) An article, Free Up Space and Money by Reducing Markdowns, by David Wing, discusses the best ways to get markdowns out of the store, giving the retailer more space to sell full priced items. I found this article very informing and also very helpful to somebody in the retail merchandising business.

The article gives good advice as to how to get
markdowns out of the store as soon as possible. Even though the main goal of stores is to sell items at full price to get the most profit, markdowns always occur. I believe that this is the best advice to follow, and it seems to me that it will get markdowns out very quickly.
