I think there are many reasons Shakespeare has remained one of the most respected and revered
playwrights (and not just b/c there HAS to be one). He was a talented man who wrote very well. His grasp
of language, words, connotations, and storytelling is amazing (and evident in most of his works).
Shakespeare chose words very well, and used language that reflected his work. His uasge and

weakness which leads to his downfall. Why is this the kind of hero most often seen in his
works? Why this tragic hero? What was the cause of this kind of focus given to such a man? Does this
choice of hero reflect the social climate?* or is this just the norm for heroes in this era? but why this kind of
hero? It seems to me that hero is even stretching it....
