Daisy is portrayed in a perfect manner for describing any old money figure. Her portrayal through Nick's eyes gives insight to the true character of Daisy as compared to Gatsby's image of her. Daisy was somewhat deceiving, but added confusion was due to Gatsby's grand illusion. Daisy's actions reveal her true character by exploitation of her weaknesses in situations and by being herself, which was in direct contrast to Gatsby's idea of her.

and built up Daisy to be something that she wasn't. Gatsby seemed to be a type of stalker that plotted his "attack" over a five-year period which was filled with obsession for Daisy. In reality, Daisy could not be completely responsible for Gatsby's image of her because she had no intention of impressing Gatsby. Unfortunately for Gatsby, the obsession for which he solely lived for, ended up being his downfall and eventual death.
