the United States the dominant whites have intentionally and unintentionally maintained their power with the use of prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination. Social interaction between ethnic groups does occur, but is not common. As long as there is separation between these groups and cohesion does not occur, then the dominant white culture will be maintained.
