that ethnic minorities do underachieve in education compared with white children. It seems apparent that it is a mixture of the different reasons put together that results in this lower achievement. In my opinion it is racism and cultural differences which seem to be the main causes. As the majority of the British population is white it seems inevitable that these factors will have a negative effect on the education of children from ethnic minorities.
