Cherokee Civil War erupted in the spring of 1839 and would last for a long six years. The U.S. stepped in and the three sides developed a treaty in which the new Cherokee Nation would be recognized. The Cherokee golden age would then carry them on through the 1850s until another famous Civil war began.
