Language in this play is action as very little information is given to us through the acting. Othello falls because he has full trust in a man who speaks nothing but lies, this eventually results in turning Othello into a tragedy.

but it has the added bonus of giving the audience a full picture and showing that he is both intelligent and a deep thinker. Iago is very wise and uses pauses in his speech to show reluctance to talk which forces Othello to become more intrigued. This is particularly relevant at the end of the play when Iago is reluctant to talk about why he brought Othello down, showing his continued power over the others.
