The Road Less Traveled seems to be a simple concept to grasp. In the first thirty pages Peck wrote about pleasure and pain. Also about problem solving and delaying gratification. The main focus however was the delaying of gratification, or how I would paraphrase it, the balance between gratification and suffering. While I was reading this I was thinking to my self what an obvious concept this is. For example, if one were to eat

joy, happiness, compassion, bliss, and love. I feel like I am drilling the point into the ground now, but to illustrate this philosophy one more time; a coin cannot exist without two faces. Both sides of the coin go into the creation of it and one cannot be used with out the other. There must be yin and yang for human existence to succeed. These ideas make my life such a pleasure to exist in.
