Edgar Allen Poe was one of America's most talented, and disturbed, writers. Poe soon there after watch his love disappear. In his own words, he suffered "the horrible, never-ending oscillation between hope and despair." By channeling his anger through The Raven it became a masterpiece and almost acted like therapy to the fierce fire in his heart.
