Pertaining to the play A Doll's House , one could say that the present is pregnant with the past. In A Doll's House there is a great deal of the past that is still a major part of the present day. There are many characters in this play that who have a past that is altering their present situation.

d easier for them to keep living the lies. All the characters in the play have had some sort of an affect from what they have performed in their past, and it only proves that the past of an individual will effect greatly what is in store for them in the future. In other words, " The present is pregnant with the past". Stick to the literature and avoid the temptation to overgeneralize
