The Crusades were a series of wars fought by Western European Christians to recapture Jerusalem, the holy land, (modern-day Palestine), from the Muslims. Also there was rivalry, which came between the Christians and Muslims. In my opinion, the Crusades as a whole, was a negative event because so many people died needlessly and achieved little in doing so.
