<Tab/>Tacitus Cornelius, born during the reign of the emperor Nero, gives us a grim and cynical narration of Roman history. Despite his political success, he lamented a century's worth of continually reduced aristocratic power. It is from this bias that he describes the reigns of the Julio-Claudian emperors in the "The Annals of Imperial Rome". Though in the early parts of the text Tacitus claims to be an impartial judge, "…showed first 75 words of 1957 total…

…showed last 75 words of 1957 total…a slight bias from the Republican side of Tacitus in the Annals, the depressing picture shown to us can live up to some merit in describing the state of the Roman world once the hunger for power and selfish motivations started influencing those in rule. His accounts of each emperor's rule and the injustice that came with it also shows us how it effected and warped the morals of the rest of the Roman world.
