It is clearly wrong for corporations to set their priorities or objectives on one specific group. A corporation owes an allegiance to all agents under its' structure. The classic concept of primarily serving the shareholders is morally wrong because shareholders wealth is not the only thing that should be considered.
To clearly evaluate this argument we must first understand the structure in which most major corporations operate. At the top level there are the board

attitude that the business of business is to make profit at the cost of stakeholders. If shareholders are legally the owners of the corporation, then they must assume a position that considers long-term goals. Clearly that concept is impossible because it is not the shareholders who perform task that affect the final product. This reality is what board members and upper management need to realize when making decisions that affect the core structure.
