America was formed with the ideology of being free. Americans usually do what they like, even if they're hurting themselves, as long as they're not hurting anyone else. There is no reason to jump the gun and ban smoking publicly without some degree of thought. There are ways around banning smoking such as upgraded filtration systems or separate enclosed smoking sections. It is a persons right to smoke and it should be left up to them whether they choose to or not.
