The sequence I am analysing is the opening scenes set on Omaha Beach on D-day, June 6th 1944. The sequence begin's by the camera showing one of the soldier's eye full screen, as if to make the viewer see through them. This shot Then zooms out to become a mid-shot. In using this mix of techniques Spielberg has pulled the bes tof both world and added them to his film. I believe that this opening sequence is used to demonstrate this. It also has a moredamatic effect than the rest of the film and this shows that he is an excellent director as it entices the audienceint watching the rest of the film.
