Not only is the death penalty immoral, it is discriminatory in practice, costs enormous amounts of money, has room for error, and is irrevocable. Faulty police work, perjured testimonies, and coerced confessions all add to the possibility for an incorrect conviction, which can lead to an execution. Basically, a humane society should not deliberately kill human beings.
