Malcolm X found the outside world through the jail library and the text of the books he read. He leaned on past experiences to drive his mind to learn more. With the understanding that the two men came from similar times the outcome of their lives was very unpredictable. As people remember these two men many will compare and contrast how they survived, not knowing that they survived because of their homemade education.
