Alfred Bernhard Nobel was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1833. In 1842 his family moved to St. Petersburg and he was privately schooled in Natural Sciences, Languages, and Literature. After this, he traveled abroad to several countries to study chemical engineering. Nobel gained popularity by inventing dynamite. Prior to this it was very dangerous to try to transport nitroglycerin. Nobel built himself a fortune by setting up factories that produced explosives. When he died in 1896, his will
