to destiny that the surrounding characters influence. Lady Macbeth lives vicariously through Macbeth. The quest to complete her personal goals leads to her manipulating Macbeth. The witches are not in physical control of Macbeth but are still influencial. They are more influential on inspiring the envious plot against Duncan, and then later predicting the downfall of Macbeth. Therefor Macbeth does have control over his reactions to destiny, but destiny has the ultimate power over life.
