Lord of the Flies
#1 The novel Lord of the Flies was my book of choice for our first literary analysis. The author, William Golding wrote 202 pages in this particular novel. Golding was born September 19, 1911, and raised in a small town in England, Cornwall namely. Originally, he aspired to be a scientist, however he quickly realized that his love was writing. live on their own. Their lives have been sheltered by the amenities of modern society, thus their new world is a shock to them. A transformation from civilized young men, to ruthless individuals is essential for their survival. The boys have to adapt to this new place. Golding states, "Round the squatting child was the protection of parents and school and policemen and the law" (Golding 192), to show how life has changed for the boys.
