The conspirators clearly had not thought any further than the assassination and perhaps thought the Senate would regain its republican ways. However, Julius Caesar's reforms, laws, expansion, determination, and courage were so cleverly indented in the Rome, that it contributed immensely to the Empire it gained by Octavian, his successor.
