The Americans seemed to have been hard headed and not want to listen to Keynes and the British team. They didn’t want to compromise and insisted on all of their ideas. Not accepting defeat, Keynes left the conference on a train and suffered a severe heart attack, dying at his home in Firle, Sussex, April 21,1946.
