eorge Herbert Mead and Max Weber are supporting the claim that the social world has to be explained in terms of meanings. A social world would not exist if it were not explained in meanings. Without meanings behind an actor's actions there would be no reaction from others and therefore no interaction. This would result in society becoming non-existent. Meanings are needed to explain all social actions as well as to understand them.
