BETTER KNOWN AS THE OREGON TRAIL
The oregon trail, one of the most greatest and longest of the overland routes used in the westward expansion of the US. It was 2000 miles through out deserts, praries, and across mountains. The trail started for most settlers in Independence Missourri and ended some where along the pacific northwestern region of the US. It would often take settlers six months to travel to their destination. It

the trail in the 1830's. In 1842 John C. Fremont surveyed a portion of the trail for the US army. Most settlers began to travel the route in 1841, and in 1843 the first large group of a quanity of around 900 took the trail to oregon during the "Great Migration." Also in 1843 there was a provisional government organized. The northern boundery of the trail was set up in 1846 and the rest of the trail in 1848.
