The code-hero and the Christ-Figure play major roles in the symbolic nature of the book. It seems as though he exhausted all of his writing abilities putting them into his last finale. The book Old Man and the Sea is very deserving of the Nobel and Pulitzer Prize and will forever live on as a classic.
