a negative presence in the play. Hamlet is exposed to a false sense of womanhood from his mother. By having his relationship with Gertrude turn sour, he concluded his mother as possess and internal evil. The mother he loved, causing the minds of Hamlet corrupted through his actions and behaviors. The relationship that Hamlet shared between Gertrude certainly plays a role and obvious effect in his insanity, and on the final outcome of the play.
