Is Hamlet mad? Well, this question is simple to answer for some people. Isn't the term "mad" a little harsh? Maybe not. In my opinion, he's insane. But I also think he has a right to be. all the drama. Hamlet is a unique character and his definition of life is everything happening unexpectedly. His views on life are different than most others, and just by thinking differently, he is punished and treated with disrespect. Yes, I admit, Hamlet is "mad," but at least he is his own person. He doesn't look up to anybody but himself, acting as such a very strong character, although at times a weak one as well.
