killed. Laertes becomes revengeful from the death of his father and sister. The corruption would give the impression that the play is full of insane and corrupting people if it were not for Horatio. Horatio serves at the moral backbone. To remind the audience that the play does have normalcy to it.
All of these combined give the play the sense of corruption and sickness. However some of these themes could happen in society today.
