Gabriel Fahrenheit Gabriel Fahrenheit was born on May 14th 1686, in Danzig Germany. Danzig is now called Gdansk and is in the country of Poland. Gabriel Settled in Amsterdam in 1701 looking for a trade and became interested in the manufacture of scientific instruments. He was mainly interested in meteorological instruments.
