The main characters of the story are Charlie, who is a mentally retarded person involved in a remarkable experiment which increased his I.Q. I live with two mentally disabled people (retarded) and i have tremendous respect for them. They go on each day not really knowing what they are doing but they still try to blend in. I know that all the people that come to my house have a respect for mentally disabled people, and if they don't they sure do act it.
