As dad and I took off for Grand Isle on Friday afternoon visions of red snapper,
cobia, and dolphin fish danced through my mind. We bounced down the road in my dad's
friend, John's pickup truck. The whine of the tires and the bland music on the radio made
my eyelids heavy and slowly I was out.
When I awoke we were parked in front of a house on stilts. It was about fifteen

and headed back to the camp. We all washed up
and ate then retired for the night. I climbed up in my bunk, laid my head down on the soft
cotton pillow and realized how exhaused I was after a long day of fishing. My eyes were
getting heavy as I sat and thought of all of the fun we had today. Slowly I fell into
unconsciousness dreaming of the big one that got away.
