In conclusion, no matter how hard you try, you can't escape fate. All of the people in Thebes believe in fate so they can't think for themselves. King Laius finds out his fate and doesn't like it. Oedipus finds out his fate and tries to run from it but it comes back and gets him. Each attempt by the characters to escape their fate brings them one step closer to doom.
