Far From Heaven Todd Haynes " Far From Heaven" takes place in nineteen-fifty's America in Hartford, Connecticut displaying the trials and tribulations of a typical American family. Frank Whitaker (Dennis Quaid) is a sales executive, while Cathy (Julianne Moore) on the other hand, works as a manager for a local newspaper while bearing two children. …showed last 75 words of 430 total…Kathy seemed to be real modern but loving and care-taking lady. The thing which stunned with the most the scenery of the golden era, yet all of the drama of modern society. It was a ironic, but pleasant contradiction. The only thing which was upsetting was the predictable plot, however, the great acting combined with the setting overshadowed this. In summary, despite minor flaws, I must give my hat off to Todd Hayes once again.
