We have all seen or heard stories about people wanting to end their lives due to extreme pain and suffering. Sometimes in the heat of war, soldiers, blown apart by land mines or bullets, ask for someone to just put them out of their misery. Since they know they will be dying very shortly, they would rather skip the extreme pain and suffering and go out as fast as possible. But what if that person

case, it may be the best moral decision, or it may be the worst moral decision, but who gets to judge? The professionals we choose to review cases, if we have review councils, may be more professional than human and may ultimately change what many of us consider to be worthy health care. Perhaps it may not even be the right time to consider legalizing euthanasia and to make it a social policy.
