Most likely he died from exposure while wandering the street. Edgar Allan Poe wrote alot of successful short stories and poems that leave the reader disturbed by the sadness of his thoughts.The idea that these thoughts came from Poe's own depressing life makes me appreciate who he was and what he wrote.
