rover's head is flung forward. They keep getting closer to each other, and she keeps getting more vulnerable until finally she sees him and screams.
"The Demon Lover" utilizes many devices found in classic ghost stories to create an excellent scary atmosphere for the story. The reader is kept in a state of suspense by proper use of descriptive language and by keeping the reader uninformed enough that they have to use their imagination.
