If we continue in striving for equality, we could end up like the society in "Harrison Bergeron". If we get as far as eliminating speciesism, we can end up lost and without a cause. Vonnegut's views might be a little exaggerated, but that is what he intended. He used satire in attempt to reform the belief that the perfect society can be obtained.
