Contraception - Position Paper 1
Contraception is a means of controlling pregnancy by either physical barriers or hormonal changes. In the special case of condoms, contraceptives are also used to decrease the chances of spreading sexually transmitted diseases. Neither case (preventing pregnancy or stopping the transmission of diseases) is 100% infallible though, thus there is always a chance for mistakes.

only sure way to be sure that the infection was not spread. But these people are married! Shouldn't they be able to have sexual relations with their spouse, and have at least some sort of protection?
Almost everything in the world can be used for good or bad purposes. Contraceptives are not exceptions to that rule. If used at the right time and the right place (ie. between a married couple), their use seems appropriate.
