The story Beowulf was one of favorite stories. It has everything that I like about an epic tale. It seems like it was a story told about some man that actually did something back in the day. The subtle hints dropped in the story make it more than just another story that was passed down orally. Understanding the story on many levels will help you to absorb many aspects and views on certain things and will open up a window into medieval culture.
