Over the years America has gone through many troubling times like Vietnam, the Great Depression, and the civil rights movement. No matter what the country has been through the people still kept faith in it. Many gave up privileges or even their lives to make the future better for others. To being an American means doing all of these things including sacrificing your life. These are the things that being an American mean to me.
