When my parents went to Seattle on vacation this summer, they noticed that airport security had changed. They went through two check points where luggage was searched, sharp items were confiscated, people that looked Middle Eastern were stopped, and a mother traveling alone with a baby was searched. The increase in security was due to the terrorist attacks against America. One positive effect of the attack is the increase in national pride in the United States. However, the state of the economy has slowed and does not appear to be growing at this point in time. The aspects of airport security, national pride, and the economy, have clearly changed before and after September 11, 2001.
