Symbolism is so vital throughout Death of a Salesman that examples are found in nearly every scene. In fact, the author uses symbols to establish the themes and characters in the play. Since Miller has such an effective use of symbolism in Death of a Salesman it is obvious that the symbols greatly increase the effect of the message that was being depicted.
