Often times in literature an author might reveal more about what is bad in the human soul, than what is good about the human soul. This can often be a necessity in order for the specific message of a literary work to be conveyed in an accurate manner. We get a glimpse into the deep thoughts, dreams, and delusions of Willy Lowman (Characterization). We see his tragic flaw, which was his fuzzy observation of reality. This contributed to his psychological deterioration, and eventually his death, which did not represent his idea of the ideal Death of a Salesman (Irony).
