I have just finished watching A patch of Blue the movie and the novel. There are alot similarities and differences in both the novel and the movie. In the Movie Selina goes to the park and meets Gordon because a caterpillar falls into her shirt and Gordon goes to help her. And she drops her beads, and he helps her. …showed last 75 words of 532 total…a black person. With this shock Selina begins to scream and the people around her beat Gordon up and Gordon barely makes it out of the park. I like the way the story is told in the novel. But I like the ending of the Movie, alot better than the ending of the novel though, because it was a happy ending, unlike the novel's where Gordon is beat up and Ole Pa dies of cancer.
