Alex does. It could be because Alex is a teenager and still has much to learn, but since this novel is set in the not-to-distant future, Anthony Burgess could be describing human nature in the future. If Mr. Burgess was describing the future, then his description of human nature is not far off after all. With
murders and violence becoming a regular occurrence in our day to day lifestyles, A Clockwork Orange is our tomorrow.
